Kompany: Manchester City must study on this year - Yahoo! Activities

In stark contrast to the closely-run concept race that was covered by Sergio Aguero on the last day of last time, Sir Alex Ferguson's part holds a strong 15-point lead over City with only nine games of the campaign left to perform. With Kompany paid off to just 20 group hearings after time spent sidelined through harm, he's accepted that the staff simply has not been good enough this season under director Roberto Mancini's direction. "You always want to go for the titles and you always want to go for the top," Kompany told Sky Sports. "I have seen it in exactly the same way as every other player. I've wanted our team to do well. "We still have an excellent work in the FA Cup, but ultimately in baseball you have to have a success and a loser, so I think we will study from what occurred there and we'll grow stronger again." The Manchester derby happens at Old Trafford soon after the finish of the international break and Kompany has targeted a come back to first-team activity with his team, giving he comes through Belgium's installation list unaffected. "I feel good, I feel really good," he said. "I have place in some effort over the ten last months and I am only very happy to be straight back with the staff. Yes it is annoying but it's something you have to manage as a specialist soccer player. "I have been by way of a lot worse than this, therefore for me it was only a case of working very hard and making sure that I was able to be there for the group again. My only ambition was to produce myself available again for the manager of the national group, for the manager of Manchester City, and I have worked really hard." Follow GOAL.COM on Twitter
