Kobe Bryant is set to miss his second-straight game, but the Los Angeles Lakers' attention is focused on inching closer towards the playoffs.
Los Angeles (36-32) will travel to take on the Phoenix Suns (22-45) for the second time since acquiring Steve Nash from the Suns this summer. With Kobe Bryant out, the onus will once again be on Nash to help lead the Lakers to victory.
Nash has scored 32 points and dished out 21 assists in the last two games and will need to continue that type of play tonight with playoff seeding on the line. With a win in Phoenix, the Lakers can pull even with the 7th place Houston Rockets, who are idle.
The Suns have taken quite a fall since dealing their point guard to the hated Lakers this past summer. Phoenix is tied with the New Orleans Hornets for the worst record in the West.
Defense has been a problem for the Suns all season, but giving up 14 threes to the Lakers, like they did on Saturday against the Washington Wizards, will certainly lead to another loss.
