5 German Football Stars to Keep an Eye On

While Marco Reus was a Monchengladbach player, Herrmann was his backup. However, since Reus left for Borussia Dortmund, Herrmann has become a key player for Lucien Favre's team.

The young German is destructive on the wing and is very good one-on-one. He has all the talent to be the next German superstar for Joachim Low.

For now, Herrmann has to be content playing for the German Under-21 team, which will be heading to Israel this summer for the UEFA U-21 championship.

Is it time to start Stu Holden?

During the Cardiff City match last weekend, Bolton Wanderers went a goal up against the run of play. Sam Ricketts' bursting run into the box followed by a nicely squared ball found Chris Eagles crashing in at pace. The winger's goal was exactly what Bolton needed. Unfortunately, the one goal was not enough for the Trotters to seal three points as Craig Noone's free kick would settle the match at one point and one goal apiece.

At the start of the day, a point at the Champions was a good result for just about every Bolton Wanderers fan. Yet, as the game progressed, Bolton Wanderers had more than one chance to take a two goal lead and ultimately win the match. Cardiff City had those chances as well and had it not been for Adam Bogdan's heroics, the story would have been much different.

Bolton's two best chances of the match, apart from Chris Eagles' goal, came from Darren Pratley. One came on the half hour mark, the other came five minutes from time. Both had the chance to give Bolton two goals on the day and both were stopped by Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall.

The first was the result of Chris Eagles breaking down the left wing and playing a cross into the box for Darren Pratley. The ball was behind Marvin Sordell and found Pratley in the center of the area. The chance, a very good one, was stopped low by the goalkeeper. The second happened right at the death as a poor backpass from Ben Turner allowed Darren Pratley to try to run onto the ball with nothing but the goalkeeper between him and the back of the net. Pratley did well to reach the ball but unfortunately could not do much with it as Marshall came crashing in. A player with more pace perhaps could have done better but it was a good bit of hustle from Darren Pratley.

Darren Pratley was not a fan favorite for much of last season and was often derided for his lack of technical ability. While that second factor is still very much the same, the midfielder's work rate has won many of the supporters over. His tireless efforts and willingness to run himself into the ground has seen Pratley become a fan favorite at the Reebok. Unfortunately, what Darren Pratley provides in effort, he often lacks in ability with the ball at his feet. It was arguably that lack of technical poise that saw those two chances against Cardiff spurned.

Enter Stu Holden. The American central midfielder was recalled (a few days) early from his Sheffield Wednesday loan to help Bolton cope with the season-ending injuries to Keith Andrews and Jay Spearing. In his first game back in a Wanderers shirt, Stu was on the bench for Bolton. He came on as a substitute in second half added time, which was roughly 20 minutes too late to make any sort of impact.

In his time at Bolton Wanderers, Stu became known for many of the things that the fans love about Darren Pratley but with the added technical ability that Pratley lacks. Stu will run himself ragged, confidently go into tackles, play crucial passes, and know how to put a good shot on target.

There are still fitness concerns surrounding Stu. After all, he was out for over two years with injury. Upon his return, Stu played sparingly, picking up substitute minutes here and there before going 67 minutes against Peterborough. A few more games on the bench and Holden was off to Sheffield Wednesday. With the Owls, Stu managed four games in the stretch of a month, including two games in the space of four days. Holden started all four games, going a total of 250 minutes (an average of 62.5 minutes per game).

While we know that Holden is more than capable, the question is in what Dougie Freedman would like to do. With a game as huge as Blackpool on the horizon, would the manager really want to make such a drastic change in midfield? Darren Pratley has become a regular in the second half of this season and it is probably fair to say that he has earned his spot on in the team. Yet, if Stu Holden, Keith Andrews, and Josh Vela had been fit, would Pratley have been given as large a chance as he has had?

Everyone talks about fairytale endings and how excellent they are. Will we see one this weekend with Stuart Holden guiding Bolton into the playoffs? It's up to Dougie.

Does Alex Ovechkin's Warm Function Make Washington Capitals a Stanley Cup Competitor?

The start of the 2013 period produced a tremendous sigh of relief to the NHL. Following a four-month lockout, things were back again to normal. Or were they? Once groups started reporting to training camp, a basic league-wide philosophy was evoked almost universally.AWith a 48-game year, it was all about getting off to a warm start. Start the growing season slowly and a staff would likely get buried. That idea truly made sense, however it was not true. Situation in point: the Washington Capitals. The Capitals got down to a miserable start under rookie head coach Adam Oates. After their first 11 activities, Washington was 2-8-1 and were in last place in the Southeast Division. It seemed that Alex Ovechkin was merely a shell of the celebrity he'd been early in the day in his profession and that Oates had to proceed through quite a bit of growing pains. But following a 5-2 property reduction to the Pittsburgh Penguins in early February, the Capitals began to increase. They won six of the next eight games to find their pace, but if the high-flying Boston Bruins came to town March 5 they appeared to take over their heads. During the time, the Bruins were playing incredible tennis and they jumped out to a 3-0 first-period cause with almost no effort. The Caps slowed the Bruins' assault, scored two goals in the 2nd period to have close and then tied the score in the next period. When Eric Fehr scored a objective in overtime, the Caps were no longer struggling. They truly became a group that evening andAhave kept their base on the gas pedal since that time. They asserted themselves in the Southeast Division when they won a couple of road games at Winnipeg in late March.AThe Caps knew at that place that they'd the group to win their division and did soAwith a win at home within the Jets Tuesday evening. Ovechkin fittingly obtained the ultimate purpose, an that went for his league-leading 31st tally. He's been on fire down the stretch, scoring 21 ambitions in his last 19 games. As the next seed in the Eastern Conference. They just could be the second-best team in the discussion when the playoffs get underway the Caps should go into the playoffs. California might still have a long way to go when they are going to contend with the Pittsburgh Penguins in a best-of-seven playoff series. But, the Montreal Canadiens and the Bruins have now been slumping poorly with the playoffs beingshown to people there. Both of those teams have the ability to show it around, however the Capitals seem better now. Ovechkin is scoring clutch objectives, the Capitals protection is splitting up rushes and active and Braden Holtby has which may be a big-time goalie. Holtby beat Boston in last year's playoffs and sent the Brand New York Rangers to eight games in the next round He got down to a difficult start in 2013, but has followed his team's lead and turned it about with a 22-12-1 report, a ambitions against average and a.920 save proportion. The Caps will probably face the New York Islanders, New York Rangers or Ottawa Senators in the first round. They have the firepower to beat any one of those groups and create a legitimate work in the Eastern Conference. Three months ago, the Capitals were all but hidden due to their slow start. However, they've learned that it is perhaps not how you start, but how you finish. They will also have to be able to create another excellent finish in the postseason.

Jon Jones: Judging His Legacy Article UFC 159

Jon Jones has set his stamp down to be the best combined martial artist ever. At the early age of 25, Jones has defeated all comers and done so in probably the most remarkable of styles. UFC 159 saw him conquer rival Chael Sonnen easily. The win was outstanding in the sense that Jones beat Sonnen at his or her own game, even though many found it as a conclusion. With that gain, Jones moves to 18-1 in his career that were only available in 2008. His only loss came consequently of a against Matt Hamill, a fight Jones centered and needs to have gained via stoppage before the DQ came. Not only is he likely the greatest light heavyweight of all time, but he could be the most useful fighter of all time. Only consider the weight he's faced to get where he is today. Before manhandling Chael Sonnen, he tapped out a jiu-jitsu black belt in Vitor Belfort. Belfort was a dangerous opponent because of his hand speed and distribution skills, but Jones overlooked each of that together with his own skills. Former champions have been beaten by him in Belfort, Quinton Jackson, Lyoto Machida, Mauricio Rua and Rashad Evans. All those besides Evans concluded via end, as Jones presented Jackson, Belfort and Machida while knocking out Rua, who had been regarded as being certainly one of the best light heavyweights before Jones came onto the world. Ryan Bader, Vladimir Matyushenko and Brandon Vera are all highly respected MMA experts within their own right, and Jones dismantled all of these. He outwrestled and blocked out Bader, rapidly killed Matyushenko with wrestling and elbows and broke Vera's face with harsh elbows. Most of these victories have put the legacy of Jones above the rest. Fedor Emelianenko and Anderson Silva are lengthy to be considered the maximum MMA fighters ever, however in enough time Jones has done many of these achievements, he has to be considered better than both. All hail the GOAT, Jon "Bones" Jones.

Newcastle United 0 Liverpool 6 match report: Daniel Sturridge fills gap to ... - The Independent

When they stopped counting the goals that inflicted on Newcastle their worst home defeat in a top-flight League game for 87 years, Alan Pardew's future looked more precarious than Luis Suarez's.

But as a statement of intent for their banned striker, there was no doubt what the Liverpool players thought: Daniel Agger and Lucas Leiva both dedicated the win to Suarez on Twitter. He in turn tweeted his delight at the victory.

There are few ways out of a crisis for a football club that involves one of your players biting an opponent, but facing the hapless Newcastle United in the following game would be pretty high up the wish-list of any slightly tuned-in member of the public-relations industry.

Liverpool have spent a week under siege, and quite rightly so for what it is still worth, after last week's game when Suarez bit Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic and was subsequently banned for 10 games.

They have fought a self-induced storm this week, and backing their player will always raise questions given the severity of the offence. It may yet be something that historically they regret, but the club was as focused on doing it the right way yesterday as much as one of their players was focused on doing it the wrong way last weekend.

That Liverpool were so good without such a talented but troubled player was also intriguing. Brendan Rodgers has nailed his colours well and truly to a precarious mast this last week in the support that has rightly or wrongly been shown to Suarez. Jamie Carragher seemed surprised to admit the performance was the best of the season. Rodgers drew issue with the notion of a one-man team and the team did the same in their performance.

The Liverpool manager called it a traumatic week and an outstanding performance and it was reassuring that a bright man was calling it correctly after the chaos that his Uruguayan forward thrust upon him. There has been all kind of arguments, many spurious, put around this week. It is still undeniable that Suarez dropped all over his manager. He has done very well to hold on to such support. The support for Rodgers came yesterday from a group of players who were so much superior that it bordered on embarrassing.

"We were absolutely brilliant today," said Rodgers. "To come to St James' Park and win six-nil is very impressive. It's been a traumatic week for the football club. We accepted that. Luis did wrong, he takes his punishment and we move on. We had to move on with a performance.

"We were so clinical. It was a terrific start for us. We were really aggressive and the pressing was really good. We talked during the week about our penetration. We have some wonderful technicians and we also have pace and youthfulness. Coutinho is a master technician. Daniel Sturridge can prove to be one of the top strikers in Europe in the next three years, you can see his pace and his power and his finishing. It's been a very difficult week, I have to say. It was a real test for us all."

From the first moment, Liverpool blew Newcastle away. The opening goal came after three minutes, when Steven Taylor failed to push out with the rest of his team-mates, allowing Agger a free header past Rob Elliot from 10 yards. The second came in the 17th minute. Sturridge and Coutinho were the architects, Jordan Henderson was the scorer, delighting in his goal by running past the corner of the Gallowgate End. These are happy times for Sunderland supporters at St James' Park. By the time the third went in, nine minutes into the second half, the white flag came from Pardew's side. Sturridge benefited from Coutinho this time, striking his shot past Elliot. The same player scored a fourth six minutes later, from closer range, with less resistance. Some supporters left. At least they had turned up. Unlike their team.

Fabio Borini had been on the pitch for 35 seconds when he struck the fifth with his first touch of the game. One minute later, Mathieu Debuchy was sent off for a reckless challenge on Coutinho, his second yellow of the afternoon. From the resulting free-kick, in the 76th minute, Henderson crossed and nobody from the Newcastle side could even muster a touch as it curled into Elliot's goal. Coutinho had a shot tipped on to the bar. There could, as Rodgers said, had been a seventh, an eighth or a ninth but the humiliation was complete.

For Pardew there is a week of hell to come. The Newcastle manager insisted afterwards he is still the man to lead the club forward. It is becoming increasingly less his choice. Newcastle had already conceded seven at Arsenal earlier this season. They were humiliated by Sunderland on their last outing at St James' Park before the rot continued yesterday. Pardew's standing has never been lower among Newcastle fans but he stressed there is still the resolve to turn the situation (five points above a relegation place) around.

"Yes absolutely I will carry on and fight through this," he said. "We haven't become a bad staff or a bad set of players overnight. We need to roll our sleeves up and make a real good fist of these last three games but it was an awful performance."

Newcastle (4-2-3-1): Elliot; Debuchy, Taylor, Yanga-Mbiwa, Haidara; Perch, Tioté; Sissoko, Cabaye, Gutierrez; Cissé.

Liverpool (4-2-3-1): Reina; Johnson, Carragher, Agger, Enrique; Gerrard, Lucas; Downing, Coutinho, Henderson; Sturridge.

So, Who Is Qualified to Function as the Collection Manager Now?

For Barney Ronay of The Guardian, in "It takes all kinds to become a football journalist a' so now we are all at it," ours now is just a world overloaded with impression, particularly in football journalism where the proliferation shows in different types. In five years, he says tongue-in-cheek, everyone would have been a baseball writer. In "so today we are all at it," Ronay imagines a global where the professional milkman starts his daily rounds and then discover the streets Astreaming with "hundreds of other folks previously patrolling the dawn streets on shabby box-car floats softly leaving their very own bottles of home-brewed white fluid on the shared doorsteps." He concludes that can't be, not in the normal world of business. One, of course, knows that in the world, it will take years to teach to become a professional in virtually any region. The field is weeded out by this very fact, and there comes a spot when the realization dawns that any view must come dressed up in moderation, for anyone even halfway through instruction in any field. It is an undeniable fact needing no security here that the most enlightened are the most moderate because they see that problems are rarely mono-dimensional. A detailed study of most things reveals the misleading nature of simple appearances. That mitigates impression and shows that, although free, only the most ignorant gives it free rein. AEven the fiercest rider bridles the horse. Several supporters imagine they could execute a better work than Wenger.Julian Finney/Getty Pictures As an ingredient of my educational upbringing doesn't mean I am therefore a professor in these places, even when to an extent that I studied physics or mathematics or English I could talk intelligibly in all of these areas. When I do, though, I have to qualify my estimation, because I am not, by itself, a specialist in these particular fields. It is true that no-one takes a doctorate degree to speak about activity. But this doesn't mean that most people are for that reason a coach or a director of the sport he or she fancies, or for that matter that he or she can become one without proper education. In football, the fact that one knows just what a 4-4-2 or even a 4-3-3 is and can plan these structures doesn't suggest that the person now possesses adequate knowledge to manage a team, at least not if one separates the world of fantasy football from the real one. Also professional participants take a number of certification classes and endure years of apprenticeship before they rise to the position of administrators. In universities, a in physical education is frequently required for someone to be a teacher or even a coach. If management were so simple, Diego Maradona is the most readily useful in the world.Julian Finney/Getty Pictures Professionalism and experience are considered important for these positions. But if I can read a given Arsenal fit, this does not qualify me to function as Arsenal manager or Chelsea's. As a lover or pundit, it's quite easy for anyone to stay in an appropriate armchair and draw proposed "best lineup" for such and such fit. While such a workout may be helpful in terms of dialogue, to be in real earnest regarding this is to be both stupid and naive. This is more so when one demands angrily they know a lot better than the manager who oversees the group daily, watches every person for action and education, receives reports from teachers and physiotherapists and understands first-hand each player's strengths and weaknesses, even their mental and emotional makeup. And then there are some ideas, which fans bandy around with reckless abandon. A true manager, however, doesn't function just on implementation but in addition on a few ideas. Ideas are easy.A What is hard is the execution of these ideas and this takes some time. While a person with knowledge and sufficient intelligence of the overall game can tell you how Barcelona perform football, the style can be implemented by few. Similarly, in the same way it is easier to tear down than to create, it is much easier to investigate and location faults than to find real and practical alternatives for these faults. And no, just saying 4-4-2 is not true alternative. Were it so, every director could get every one of is own suits simply by cobbling together a 4-4-2. The clear answer doesn't rest, both, in saying that the director should have played that person and not that one. To be that naive is to be the magical stranger that cried louder than the bereaved family. In the others words, it is to pretend to obtain inside information where one possesses nothing. But this really is not to say that a may not make suggestions or that a person may not analyze, the issue lies, instead, in being particular. Administration is significantly more than armchair punditry.Christopher Lee/Getty Images ...oh, Wenger does not know very well what he is doing... ...Wenger is deciding on a weak group to play Bayern Munich and this is an to the fans... ...Wenger doesn't know tactics... ...oh, Wenger should not took off Theo Walcott... ...Why on the planet did Wenger leave Podolski behind? Why must he play Gervinho? If biology was studyed by me in secondary school, does that make me a doctor? The problem today is that lovers have convinced themselves that they've enough knowledge of the game to be administrators of the groups they support. That is because the web is free, why not?, and why everyone else feels eligible to offer unqualified opinion It's this bewildering proven fact that gave birth to Ronay's viewpoint piece for The Guardian. True, even printing literature cannot be considered immaculate in all with this, but what in the planet makes activities fans think they can provide unqualified opinion on everything? It is ignorance or simply naivety? Or can it be delusion or the fact that nowadays just about everyone seems to be very upset?

Report: Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar Outcome at WrestleMania Revealed

After their lackluster bout at SummerSlam 2012, not many fans had pined for a rematch between Triple H and Brock Lesnar.

However, that tide turned a few weeks ago when the two battle-tested veterans collided at full speed, resulting in a bloodletting for Lesnar.

Following 12 staples for Brock's head wound, a challenge issued and personal acrimony on both sides, one can arguably say that Triple H vs. Lesnar may be the most anticipated contest on the WrestleMania 29 card.

The current plan is for Triple H to defeat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 29. The feeling is that he has to win because Lesnar beat him the first time, 'broke his arm' twice and broke Shawn Michaels' arm as well. There has been talk of using Michaels in the storyline again so Michaels can have a WrestleMania role.

In some ways, it's difficult to fault the logic behind Triple H finally overcoming the odds to stand tall at Metlife Stadium.

After all, he has been through an extraordinary amount of adversity in his struggle against Lesnar. Not to mention, WrestleMania is usually the one event per year where the good guys triumph over their evil-doing adversaries.

That being said, Triple H, whose in-ring days have taken a backseat to his growing backstage presence, has little to gain by besting the former UFC heavyweight champion.

Lesnar, on the other hand, can't really afford to have succumbed in two of his first three matches in WWE, especially if he is going to continue his part-time status.

Ranking the 25 Best College Basketball Towns in America

With 347 teams in Division I, there's no shortage of places to find college basketball. Some towns, however, provide a much more impressive experience than others when it comes to on-court action and off-court craziness.

Unsurprisingly, Kentucky—long a hoops mecca and home to the last two national champs—has a couple of serious contenders for top honors. Both Lexington and Louisville have grand traditions on the hardwood, but will either one claim the top spot?

Read on to see which cities top the charts as the best in college hoops. Each locale is rated for the quality of its team (or teams), the devotion of its fanbase (especially when it comes to giving the home team an edge) and the ease with which college basketball outshines the other local sports options.

Breaking Down Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay's Final Draft Projections for Fins

The NFL draft has grown to enjoy unfathomable levels of media coverage over the past decade or so. Multiple outlets provide draft coverage, and there are even people whose sole jobs are to pore over, research and analyze an event that lasts three days, once a year.

Two of the most famous draft experts around are Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay. These draft gurus have been providing mock drafts and analysis for years. Say what you want about their accuracy, because frankly trying to guess just one round of the NFL draft is akin to determining the weather outlook for a week.

Kiper and McShay are trusted nonetheless. But even the most trusted had a hard time with 2013's class. Seemingly devoid of elite talent yet overflowing with very good players, this year's class has been one of the most puzzling to figure out.

The Miami Dolphins find themselves in an interesting position. Sitting at 12, most of the best players at positions of need (offensive tackle, corner) will be gone. Meanwhile, most of the next-best players seem like reaches at 12.

What's a team to do? Rumors have swirled that the Dolphins are looking to both trade up and down, neither of which might not be a bad idea.

But those moves are beyond Kiper and McShay's relative scopes. For their latest mock of Round 1, they simply chose who each team would take if they stayed put. Let's break down each analyst's selection for the Dolphins.

The trio of top-flight tackles is unquestionably Eric Fisher, Luke Joeckel and Lane Johnson. Assuming the Dolphins don't jump on a trade for Brandon Albert, they'll need to draft a tackle. The three best tackles are basically guaranteed to be gone before the first 10 teams are through picking.

That leaves D.J. Fluker, who despite having flown somewhat under the radar, is still undoubtedly the fourth-best tackle prospect. He's a monster of a man at right tackle, measuring up to 6'4" and 339 pounds. His beastly frame allows him to dominate in the running game and open up huge lanes.

Equipped with long arms, Fluker is great at standing up and controlling defenders. He also has great quickness for his size, meaning defensive ends have to be very fast off the snap to flummox Fluker.

It may be a safe pick, but it fills a need. Overall, I can back this selection. My only concern with Fluker is his size. Can the lumbering titan adjust to the zone-blocking scheme the Dolphins want to implement? It's a scheme that typically calls for a slightly smaller, more athletic tackle. Fluker could possibly fill that role, but it's no guarantee.

That concern aside, I like Fluker at 12. It allows Miami to fill a need with a good player without giving up any picks to move into the top 10.

Warmack is widely considered to be the best guard in the draft, with only North Carolina's Jonathan Cooper coming close. Warmack provides a deadly combination of size, strength and speed on the offensive line.

He's 6'2" and 317 pounds, a hefty body in the interior. He has a strong initial punch and can anchor well against bull-rushers. Warmack can also pull effectively and is even fast enough to get downfield and block linebackers and corners.

The Dolphins don't seem to have an immediate need at guard, but considering Ireland's propensity for drafting linemen early on, it wouldn't come as much surprise if Miami snagged Warmack. Indeed, if he falls to 12, many would consider the Dolphins crazy for not taking him.

Much like the Fluker pick, I would be OK with this selection. While guard isn't a drastic need, Warmack would improve the line immediately and likely be an All-Pro within a couple of seasons.

However, both Kiper's and McShay's picks assume the Dolphins stay at 12. If that's the case, then sure, I'm fine with either of these picks.

But if we're taking into account the Dolphins' likelihood to move around on Thursday night, these moves suddenly don't look as good to me. Frankly, I expect the Dolphins to utilize their abundance of picks to shake up the draft order.

That being said, I'm still not sold on Miami trading up. I don't like Lane Johnson enough to justify potentially giving up a second- or third-round pick. Especially not when they could get a viable right tackle in the middle rounds with ease.

I'd like to see the Dolphins move back into the first round and either address the secondary (Desmond Trufant, Jamar Taylor) or give Notre Dame's Tyler Eifert a look to add another weapon for Ryan Tannehill. Eifert could also add permanence if Dustin Keller doesn't work out beyond 2013.

No matter how you slice it, this is shaping up to be one of the most exciting drafts for the Miami Dolphins in a long time. With so many options available, I personally can't wait until Thursday night to see what happens.

Chris Paul's Incredible Jordan Shoe Collection Is Likely To Make Sneakerheads Jealous

For every help star position guard Chris Paul falls, he gets a couple of sneakers. Or 10. Ok, I'm actually kidding, but I'd perhaps not be amazed if it were true. Paul's wife, Jada (h/t nextimplusesports.com), posted a picture on her Instagram accountAof her husband's boot "museum." Increased exposure of "museum." The pair apparently had to devote an entire room of their residence to the shoe-induced trigger, and what Jada captures in the picture is only a of Paul's collection. For all those concerned, I'm pretty certain Little Chris was not displaced in the name of his father's shoes. They probably have sufficient bedrooms. If Little Chris had their own toddler-shoe museum now I would maybe not be astonished But we digress. Let us handle that noise you're currently hearing around the globe. It's the cadence of sneakerheads awash with envy, the Jordan brand cashing in on that envy and females (and probably Dennis Rodman) drooling over just how many pairs of pumps and UGGs they are able to put into this here public. Don't imagine you're not surprised either. Since one image is not enough. We already knew that Paul was receiving monthly deliveries of kicks. We had know thought that also meant he was the president of a memorial that rivals the Smithsonian. In the image alone, we are able to see hundreds of sets of Jordans. That is a "portion" of his collection is absurd. And amazing. Lovers of footwear understand that if they'd a bankroll or free access like Paul, they had take advantage of it as well. After bare feet are kept by all, does not a pair of sneakers or 10 a day, at bay? That is not the envy moving the rest of one's nervous system If you should be currently feeling a twinge in your neck. It is a slight elevation in astonishment. We know Paul gets shipments of shoes, and we know he has a shoe construction to keep them in. What is with the empty places? Did he take these kicks on a trip, or does he really (gasp) have room for more? Jordan representatives better send a fleet of trucks full of new equipment. They could not need the curator of these model with barren slots in his museum. As for when Paul in the course of time goes out of area, I'm not sure what he'll do. Maybe he will knock down some walls and expand. Perhaps he'll ask to rent a space in your own home. Probably he'll buy your house just for his shoes. In any event, hold that gathering of shoes coming along, Chris. Like the majority of friends, a point guard cannot have too manyAshoes.

Jones vs. Sonnen Fight Card: Which Fight Stole the Show at UFC 159?

As the old saying goes, April comes in like a lion, but goes out like a lamb. For the UFC, the latter half was especially true, as UFC 159 didn't deliver the sort of action that fans have come to expect from the Zuffa boys.

A series of peculiar finishes and lackluster action lessened a night of fights that certainly could have been more entertaining. However, there were definitely highlights throughout the evening.

Chael Sonnen and Jon Jones was the one-sided pummeling that the world expected to witness, and although the injury to Jones' toe will forever be scarred into our brains, the fight itself was fairly forgettable.

With Michael Bisping and Alan Belcher ending on a sour note due to an eye poke, that fight is out of the running as well.

Just prior to that matchup, the heavyweights found themselves on the highlight reel when Roy Nelson blasted Cheick Kongo with a big right hand that left the Frenchman wondering where he was. It was enough to be the KO of the Night, but there was better action earlier on the card.

The show kicked off with a bang when featherweights Steven Siler and Kurt Holobaugh went to war on the Facebook prelims. Siler looked as if he would earn a quick finish in the first round, but Holobaugh was tough enough to survive.

Although a thriller, this fight doesn't take top honors due to its lack of visibility on the card. Instead, the bout that stole the card is none other than Jim Miller vs. Pat Healy.

Fight of the Night honors went to the lightweights who nearly went three full rounds before Healy pulled off the upset by securing a rear-naked choke on a jiu-jitsu wizard.

Results On Matt Harvey, Getting Matt Moore, JP And Sale, Increasing Cain & Obtain And Pain

HARVEY PITCHMAN, LAWYER OF STRIKEOUTS Iad positively just take Matt Moore over Matt Harvey a jeremy cohen (@jerco21) April 23, 2013 Friday night was remarkable, and not all night to get lucky because I wasAup just. No, far ahead of the clock struck 4 a.m. a' when a magnificent figure sporting an informed me that my dancing/air punch grooving could no more be accepted inside the place a' Citi Field included enough electricity to power the entire area during Strasburg v. Harvey 1. The most effective part? It more than lived as much as the hype, at the least from the Mets fan/Harvey Fantasy manager perspective. Strasburg demonstrably didnat have his primo stuff, giving up four runs, two earned, lasting only six innings, but Harvey did. Something heas had in every start in 2013. Through four turns, the Mets star of theAfutureApresent is sitting with a sub-one ERA, allowing two-thirds of a base runner per frame, fanning over a player an, while working in to at least the seventh in each outing. Basically werenat soAafraid of the dark, Iad say heas been lights out. Today, nearly monthly into the season, Harveyas been away and far probably the most valuable Fantasy hurler. And around Iad like to see any pitcher complete a period with a 35-0 )/0.93 ERA/0.66 WHIP/240 K stat range a hate to tell ya a' itas simply not planning to happen. Nearly all us recognize that, due to the fact weare not certifiably crazy, but not everyone comes to grip with reality therefore quickly. They are now living in the bizarroAMatrix, whereABizarro Boller is rules overall. Who is this Matt Harvey person and how is he holding my imagination team?Should I business high? a ramonramon (@not_fake_ramon) April 20, 2013 The easy solution is OH HELL YA. As quickly as it is possible to. His price can never feel this vertex again, probably for the remainder of his profession. Therefore like I defined withABryce Harper during the seasonas first week, you borrowed from it to your staff to sell high. If youare seriously interested in still being in first place come September, that's. Commonly, when I discuss aselling higha on any player, I quickly get a string of horrible of e-mails a' significantly more than usual a telling me Iam a hater. Totally false, except when it comes to Howie Kendrick. Venom is spewed by me in Howieas direction at every junction. However, not Harvey. I think heas a good ability, and will definitely be described as a invaluable Fantasy thing. And yes, itas certainly possible to win your championship with Harvey as your ace, heas a borderline Top Ten starting pitcher. But, it seems Stitchules, the God of soccer alchemy, has taken a rush of hyped prospect, mixed it with an upper 90s fastball, added a massive market and topped it off with an unsustainable start resulting in a transmutation more important than a Honus Wagner rookie card lined with rhodium a' embodied in the form of Harvey. Now comes the hard part. What can you get for him? That issue is really a Fantasy Rubikas Cube, one where the stickers donat peel off quickly. Fortunately, Iam like Will Smith in theAPursuit of Happyness a'minus being homeless and so off-puttingly nice a' I could resolve this problem. I can define for you because I donat play in your league, thereas no specific business, but I can say Iave professionally seen Harvey swapped directly for Felix Hernandez already. For reals. In yet another he was dealt for Adrian Beltre. And some one got the hilariously uneven mix offer of Albert Pujols and Homer Bailey in a third. And these are only people Iave noticed a' all wonderful deals for the former Harvey owners. Since youall be losing, possibly, your initial pitcher shipping Harvey away, Iave complied this handy set of hurlers Iad instantly trade Harvey for in a one-for-one offer. Why? Because I feel itas beneficial, andAIam always making lists anyway. Justin Verlander Clayton Kershaw Felix Hernandez Stephen Strasburg Ledge Lee Yu Darvish Adam Wainwight Madison Bumgarner Cole Hamels David Value Max Scherzer Youad be floored by just how many of these names people would gladly provide you with for Harvey. You understand whatas reallyAthe shirts, nevertheless? You donat have to accept any one of those trades, Harveyas requirement is higher, the precedent has been established. Ideally, youare wanting to get a pitcher from the bottom half that list, or someone on the Matt Cain, Mat Latos, Jon Lester level; with a batter to go along with them. A new player like Ben Zobrist or Brandon Phillips or Billy Butler a' essentially a High 50 hitter that fills a situation of need on your own list. May seem like a lot to ask, doesnat it? Since youare compos mentis a' though that might be in question since youare reading this a' it will appear that way. But never underestimate the worthiness it is possible to extract only from nonsense. Until it goes similar to a ofASex Panther, nonsense clouds the senses; itas a tornado, and once youare caught in it, thereas no escape. Weare currently in the eye; itas very nearly run its course, so market now or be bound to a fate of reduced returns. Now, letas say youare in the other camp, one of many crazies that wants to stop trying their entire staff for Harvey, I have a remedy that should placate your condition, temporarily at the very least. Say hello to Matt Moore. And Matt Moore threw a no-no tonight against everybody else maybe not called Robinson CanA a Andrew Parent (@ParentAndrew) April 23, 2013 Moore pitches in the AL and is left-handed a weirdo a making him essentially the mirror/mirror model Matt Harvey. But although the love? Itad be there if Moore played in NYC instead ofa ahhhhha wherever he the nightmare plays. In fact, if he wasnat a Ray, you probably might have exchanged him for Mike Trout halfway through his Tuesday evening lockdown of the Yankees: 8 Ip Address, 2 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 9 E. His only blemish being a hook Robinson Cano crushed to the bleachers a something he does every once and again. So now, in four starts, Mooreas figures are eerily similar Harveyas. But he probably wonat command half the get back in an industry. When you wish to create a offer for a strong ace, youall give up much less for Mooreas companies and might actually end up with the outstanding Fantasy advantage by seasonas end. IMDABES Remember Ryan Braun and Robert Troutas slow starts?ATHAT WAS WEEKS AGO! Roughly it seems anyway. Itas very important to register once in awhile to see whoas likely to be the most useful player using this point forward. At this time, there is no single player I'd trade for Trout, expect Braun.AHedabesa SWAG! I KNOW WHAT YOUaRE SPEAKING ABOUT IN HERE!!! Some one should check Ryan Braun again. The person has gone out of control. a JB (@thegodbacher) April 23, 2013 After coping with hisAHare Krishna experience a aEverythingas about Krishna!a a and getting rejected by way of a couple of tweens at a concert; itas been good to see Harry Crane emerge unscathed out one other side, ultimately nutting up and demanding his fair share in SCDP. Harry has been a favorite of mine for decades, mainly because heas really one of many few figures that may seem like he can exist in today's, along with secret Sci-Fi lover Ken Cosgrove. But heas moved his game up an even this year, and itas not merely the new,APoochie-esque, in that person attitude or these fresh sideburnsa itas the suits.ABehold their majesty. Of course, Harry however doesnat compare Stan Rizzo. The maximum of them all. This week, Stan spent the entire episode locked in a personal room, taking care of Project E, geeking out at the initial munchies fueled mention of lunch a' A regular occurrence for anyone withAthis beard, past or present. THATaS GOTTA BE CAIN @mellinger How sweet was Lorenzo Cainas fake bunt psych-out to go in the winning run? Can Red Sox retaliate with ahey mixture battera? a Gus Chiggins (@Grant4MU) April 22, 2013 Lorenzo Cain morphed in to Ted Williams during a four game stretch the other day, going 11-for-16, hitting a long fly and swiping two bags. Is this ultimately the breakout for since he found its way to Kansas City as piece 1A, with Alcides Escobar, in the Zack Greinke package which the Fantasy group has been? Slow your roll for a moment. While Iam reluctant to look at any higher level figures so early in the growing season, sample size is just too tiny, Cainas silly.455 batting average of balls in play (BABIP) states regression is coming. And when that happens, leave behind that plus-.300 average and.431 OBP. When Cain was coming up in the Brewers system, there have been always rumblings of a 20/20 year in his future, I recently donat see that, however. Yes, he hit eight home runs in just 244 menu hearings last season, stealing 10 bags; translated out to an entire season it'd be approximately 18 HR and 26 SB. Therefore if he can remain healthy for the entire year, and make a step at age 27, that potential exists a' itas not planning to happen. First of all, heas just played more than 130 games in a season twice in his professional career: 132 in 2006 in rookie ball, and 134 in 2011 between AAA and the Royals. Accidents are difficult to estimate, but these whoave succumbed in their mind before are a lot more likely to get hurt again. And, since he was this kind of identified prospect, people often overrate his power. Cain watched 16 keep the yard in 2011 in AAA, definitely probably the most in any one season. After that, we've to go back to 2008 when he managed 11 HR, when he split up time passed between high-A and AA. Iam sorry your Cain balloon was deflated by me, but weare not looking at another Top 20 OF here. Prime 40, positive, if the speed maintains up, but heas more of a Fantasy outfielder, maybe not someone you ought to be targeting in a trade. That could be Carlos Gomez. STREAMINa I canat help myself from streaming pitchers. Why? I DONaT WALK, ONLY TROT JP Arencibia has hit a couple of pitches on the part of the plate. If perhaps he could go for a walk once each week. a Tao of Stieb( @TaoofStieb) April 23, 2013 Are you aware why the Blue Jays threw in the towel John Buck only minutes after buying him? Because John Buck Jr., sometimes known as JP Arenciba, was already on the group. I put the concept of trying to sell large out for lots of players because, well, they warrant it. But Buck and Arenciba aren't sell-highs. I am talking about, they are, but no oneas buying. Where people is able to see the benefit oozing from Matt Harveyas pores, they understand power getting pair is fraudulent. Go on it, when you can get any sort of reunite for either. Buckas probably published 50-percent of his whole 2013 numbers already, but fortunately, a small trying to sell screen has been opened because of Travis daArnaudas broken foot. The Mets catching possibility is likely to miss out the next six or eight months with the injury, so what you've to complete now is tell someone in your group that Buck isnat planning to lose his job sometime in this first week July. Today, he is going to lose his job, be prepared to see daArnaud in Queens the moment he may stand without crutches. Keep in mind, when youare performing the hard sell, donat mention that part. Also, thereas virtually no possibility Arenciba keeps his average anywhere near his current.250. Maybe not walking once for each 28 strikeouts. It really doesnat work like that. I will concede he could finish with 30 HR a' improbable, but definitely possible a' and that number might be larger also if the Jays played every game at Rogers Centre a' Arencibia has struck all eight HR at home a but heas going to be a point to your average. At least in Roto leagues youall look at the conclusion of the year and see some good counting power totals. Nadal beats Almagro to gain 8th Barcelona Open

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) a Rafael Nadal won the Barcelona Open for the eighth time Sunday, beating Nicolas Almagro 6-4, 6-3 for his last name of the year. That latest victory, with next month's French Open approaching, is a promising sign that Nadal gets back once again to full strength from the leg injury that sidelined him since last summer "I am very happy," he explained. "It has been an important week for me to get here again and a fantastic way to obtain joy after everything I have been through." After walking 3-0 in the very first collection, Nadal found his kind and broke his fellow Spaniard in three of his next four support games to simply take control in a final played in a snow. Straight finals have been made six by him since returning from his leg injury. This name, the 54th of his profession, comes seven days after his eight-year reign at Monte Carlo concluded with a to top-ranked Novak Djokovic. Nadal won the Barcelona Open from 2005-09 but didn't play this season due to a knee injury. He has gained every year since. He's gained 39 direct matches on the red clay at Real Club de Tenis, his last loss coming 10 years ago to Spain's Davis Cup captain, Alex Corretja. Almaro, ranked 12th, has dropped all 10 of his matches to Nadal. He liked an excellent start Sunday and broke Nadal's first service game with a forehand champion before keeping offer to love. Almagro held Nadal going with heavy backhands. He broke again for a 3-0 guide following when he swatted a working crosscourt reunite a long rally. But Nadal then showed why he has perhaps not lost in Barcelona in a decade, bringing off four straight games. "It was very important to me to obtain the split, down 3-0," Nadal said. "Almagro is having a great season and I wish him the best." Almagro was helping and up 30-0 when he made a series of errors, including the score that was brought by a double-fault to three games apiece. Control was taken by nadal by breaking Almagro a third time. Down 0-30, a point was saved by Nadal by returning a lob with a shot from between his legs before Almagro dropped the overall game and set. In the second set, Nadal maintained the pressure and broke to lead 3-1. Nadal served out the match to love, and was soon applauding the fans who'd cheered both participants. "He showed again why he's the best person ever sold on this surface," Almagro said, adding he'll make an effort to win the title next year "if Rafa lets me."

Brek Shea still going the wrong manner, at Stoke City and for the USA national team - NBCSports.com

Bob Davis Rate 28, 2013, 5:25 PM EDT Considering purchasing stock in Brek Shea? Hmmm, you might be safer to asella at the moment. Still another week-end has come and gone with the Stoke City winger nowhere in sight. If youare disappointed in the young U.S. manas inability to produce development up Tony Pulis level chart, youave got nothing on Jurgen Klinsmann. Shea didn't play as Stoke obtained a significant 1-0 make an impression on Norwich. (Geoff Cameron didnat start in that one, by the way, but did perform the final half hour.) America national team coach isnat exactly saying so a' maybe not with his words, anyway a' but when you tune in to Klinsmann it seems clear he is significantly less than pleased with how Sheaas move is working out. Or, better put, how it is no longer working out. Not for now, at the very least. Listen to what Klinsmann had to say on Wednesday through that media summit, attended with a few U.S. journalists, as well as your ProSoccerTalk friend here. Obviously they make their very own choices and they have to deal with the effects, and by aconsequencesa after all with the specific situation they are facing. Brek Shea badly, badly wanted to go now and to Stoke City heas perhaps not enjoying there, at all. Heas not even in the 18 at all, and he's to manage that. Klinsmann was asked if Shea mentioned winter months shift from FC Dallas to Stoke City. Uh, no. No. Certainly not. It was discussed by me with [MLS vice president]Todd Durbin, but he badly, badly wanted that shift. It is now what it is. Itas not helping us if heas not within their first 18. The interesting point is that Klinsmann wasnat asked about Shea here. He was questioned about Carlos Bocanegra, and responded dutifully. Whilst the better example of adecisions and consequences.a however he used Shea Shea has plenty of time, and all this might turn for him early next year, by September approximately if heas enjoying regularly for Stoke. But for this summer? Things arenat looking good.

Tyler Eifert Scouting Report: NFL Outlook for Notre Dame TE

In recent years, Notre Dame has been something of a small end factory, delivering John Carlson and Kyle Rudolph to theANFLAas second-round selections and early career starters for their pro teams. Their latest tight end prospect,ATylerAEifert, has the talent to get into the first round, and probably even the most effective 20. Why is this Fighting Irish limited end possibility the very best yet? Strengths Eifert's mix of size, basketball capabilities and athleticism make him hard to defend EifertAhas the long arms, major figure and soft hands to be a game problem in the passing recreation for smaller defensive players. He is fast and quick enough to still build separation fromAcornerbacks as a wide receiver and fall into line outside, but large enough to still make the catch against them when he does not. His human anatomy control, routes and launch away from the line are broad phone quality.AEifertAis a clutch performer and is a quarterback's favorite, especially at a negative balance region. Weaknesses EifertAis a willing blocker, and he is recovering, but he is a wall-off blocker who'll maybe not be a as a run- or pass-blocker. He has more of anAoversizedAwide device body and can get pushed around by stronger people in channels. He's not really a great player with breakaway speed, although he's a first-round prospect.AEifertAisn't a danger make big gains after the catch. Blocking is not a power, but Eifert will surprise you together with his effort and power Methods At 6'5" and 250 pounds, with 33 1/8" hands and a 35.5" vertical,AEifertAis difficult to avoid "above the rim." His 4.60 40 rate is good enough to be considered a danger on seam tracks, and his top-end speed for a tight stop (4.32 short shuttle, 6.92 three-cone) shows up when he fails in his routes.AEifertAisn't exactly a Vernon Davis-esque model, but he's a, very good physical deal to present to the pros. Intangibles/Character Eifert's effort to add 40 pounds of muscle and develop into a better blocker reveals his dedication to the overall game. He's a high-effort, wise, versatile person. There's almost zero personality risk here, which makesAEifertAa very safe pick in the first round. Program EifertAcan perform anywhere from in-line tight end to split up out wide. Unlike several tight ends, he doesn't just line up in the slot, he lines up at a wide receiver situation with a matched up on the other side of the line of scrimmage. Although he is not likely to be described as a solid blocker, he is a three-down small end. Launch EifertAisn't exceptionally rapid or volatile, but he gets up to speed very quickly out of his release from the in-line tight end position, and he's learned to fight off press coverage when lined up out wide.AEifertAthreatens the safety very quickly into his seam routes and has enough burst in his release to obtain into his routes while losing little time. Routes EifertAeats up open area with his long stride and good speed, and then makes divorce with sharp and exact pauses at the very top of his path. He'll use his hands to fight off a cornerback, and he's the rate to be a downfield target on get routes.AEifertAuses his hands effectively to fight off the jam, therefore he's hard to re-route or otherwise disrupt in his route moment. He comes back to the quarterback just like a wide receiver and does every one of the small things to produce himself more efficient at getting open. Arms Eifert is an excellent one, and a normal arms catcher EifertAis an all-natural when the ball happens, almost always plucking it out from the air together with his hands. His hands are especially comfortable at full extension, andAEifert's ability to transport in the cross does not diminish when he's working the heart of the subject or contested with a defender.AEifert's 9 1/8" hands are also strong, seldom offering the reception after he gets his mitts on the ball. Basketball Skills While he has some excellent instruments and intangibles,AEifert's instinctive behavior once the ball is returning might be the best section of his sport. His leap timing and length make him extremely difficult to guard on 50/50 balls. He understands just how to use his human anatomy to shield a defender like aArebounderAgetting place in a baseball game. Eifert's athleticism gives him the ability to turn and adjust to errant moves, and on the whole he's a huge effective hook distance. He will fight to maintain his ground or gain the area on a competitive basketball, andAEifertAgenerally figures out an easy method to do whatever it requires to really make the grab. Even though he's perhaps not open, he is an excellent target. Follow Catch Eifert does not have much to offer after the catch, but he is persistent and strong EifertAisn't likely to hightail it from anybody, and he doesn't have many techniques following the catch in his collection. What he'll do is work with strength and stubborn resolve after the catch. He has been recognized to carry a tackler on his right back, and his balance gives him the power to get meters after contact.AEifert's smooth pace and water athleticism also convert to good gains when he will make a catch in the wild field. Stopping We'll give him an E for effort in this category.AEifertAcan reach a position and neutralize or stalemate his opponent as a run-blocker. While he will not push his opponent downfield,AEifertAcan seal a hole by walling off his project. He can get overpowered as a pass-blocker and does not look comfortable attempting to end aAblitzer.AEifertAwill shock you with some fire in his blocks occasionally, and he is recovering every year, so he has upside here as a pro.

Living the dream: Manchester United's Robin van Persie on "massive relief" of... - Mirror.co.uk

"I have waited a very number of years with this - it is 1 day what every professional dreams might happen. It's only an incredible feeling" David Peters Robin van Persie has revealed his comfort after finally winning the Premier League title in his first time with new team Manchester United. The Dutch striker had only an FA Cup winner's medal to show for seven years in English football when he left Arsenal last summertime, but has obtained 24 group goals to help fire United to a record 20th champion. And the 29-year-old, who returns to the Emirates on Sunday for the very first time since his controversial exchange, admits the season has made his wishes come true. "I have waited an extremely number of years for this. It is what every professional goals might happen one day," he explained. "That is the reason why I sacrificed therefore much ahead here. A dream was chased by me and I'm therefore happy the dream has been achieved. I still can not think it, it is only an unbelievable experience. "It can be a massive relief all things considered now to be fortunate enough to win a name in one of the toughest leagues in the world." He added: "My move to Manchester United was all about time. We met one another at precisely the right time - they were so eager to win the Premier League title back, and I was so eager to win the title for the very first time." Van Persie - who also won the UEFA Cup with first team Feyenoord before joining the Gunners - is in the prime of his profession and admits he is eager to refill his prize case with the Old Trafford leaders while he's at the very top of his game. "Quite only, I now wish to get as much as possible," he added. "Now I've won one large prize, I'm even more eager to win more, even more eager to win everything. "Next season I have the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, Capital One Cup, Community Shield and, needless to say, the World Cup to target on." United have now been associated with movements for a bunch of strikers come july 1st to supplement Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck. But Van Persie doesn't see that as a threat to his position and believes a more impressive team will help him realize his goals with the team. "The more quality players we carry the better," he told Sunlight. "And much more fun. "I trust (Ferguson's) judgement. The boss knows what is advantageous to the team." Do not become accustomed to it: Van Persie won the FA Cup with Arsenal - nine years back Getty Van Persie's signing raised eyebrows in the summer because it has been unusual for Ferguson to pay big on players within their late-20s, but the Scot's assistant Mike Phelan has confirmed the Holland hitman's effect this year. "Robin is a good improvement to Manchester United Football Club," he told BBC Radio Five Live's Sportsweek programme. "We knew what we were signing when we brought him to the club. "He is come in with an requirement of achieving something and once you arrived at Manchester United that is essential. "You have got to want to get, you've surely got to want to develop much more than where you are at the moment and I think Robin has brought on another part of his game. "He does study the overall game but therefore do other people and Robin has accomplished a thing that he is tried to reach for numerous years and we're pleased to have him with us." Phelan added: "We all know very well what his talent is and he's brought that to us. "We knew he could score many goals, we knew he'd the quality to entertain a crowd and there is no better crowd and no better arena to achieve that in than Old Trafford. "I think everyone has responded to him within the membership. His highs have been enjoyed by the supporters. "He had a cause throughout the season when he was slightly barren but he kept going and we kept playing him and his quality has shown through."

Hamilton Academical Barcelona-Panathinaikos: The YouTube record (starring Gallis, Dominique, Obradovic, Saras, Pekovic, Diamantidis, Tomic)

Those in the know about European basketball (or game, actually) need no introduction to either of these storied companies who add another page to the real history tonight: Panathinaikos Athens goes to Barcelona to take on the Blaugrana in a critical sport five Euroleague quarterfinal match a after one heck of a line thus far. Hyperbolization of the teamsa history a' not to mention the nail-biting, cliffhanging suspense of the very playoff series a' would be difficult and doing so would be boring. Therefore BallinEurope only will say that the series between both of these groups has Panathinaikos with a 15-12 overall advantage historically, and letas get to the YouTubes. Appreciate a significant fascinating assortment of an electronic Whoas Who of highlights; yet again, YouTube principles. (Incidentally, if this collection looks somewhat PAO-biased, apologies. Possibly the Greek sideas fans are ahead in the video-sharing field as wella) Panathinaikos and Barcelona met under the right Euroleague banner at the tail end of the 1993-94 period. In the third-place game, Nikos Gallis assigned still another EL scoring- and assist-leading period (23.8 and 4.7 per game, respectively) by major PAO to a 100-83 win in the first game between the groups in 12 years a' back once again to the Champions Cup days. Barca was victimized many years later by PAO, now falling in the 1996 Euroleague title sport in Paris a' after leading the Greens twice in the eighth-final round of play. And of course this also marked Panathinaikosa first European championshipa aand also the highest-level club title taken by Dominique Wilkins, an good who performed before his time (i.e. the YouTube Era). Helming the Panathinaikos part this season has been particular Euroleague instructor of the year choice Argiris Pedoulakis a' but game one of this series represented the first time in 16 conferences that Zeljko Obradovic wasnat occupying that room in the huddle. Although the listing of equipment the rumored potential NBA coach went up in Greece is considerable, but Barca continually stymied the man within their meetings between 2003-2011: Obradovicas report against the Blaugrana was just 7-8. And thereas one guy popular in both circles: Sarunas Jasikevicius, having won titles with both Panathinaikos and Barcelona (the sole player apart from Dejan Bodiroga, no?) and just one of the all-time great winners in Euroleague record with four titles for three teams a including both these groups a on his CV. May this in reality be Sarasa remaining run, particularly when Barca wins the big prizea? Amid his massive 2006-07 and the first of three brands in the decade, Dimitris Diamantidis smoked the Juan Carlos Navarro-led Barca in the most truly effective 16 round, running up an incredible 102 details on aem. All DD could end up getting that period was a Final Four MVP, an All-Euroleague first team jerk, a Euroleague Most readily useful Defender trophy and the Greek League MVP concept. In November 2007, the defending champions kept property court in the EL typical time, controlling Barca, 76-66. This could be the last time Panathinaikos won against Barcelona in Greece for 3A years. Incidentally, remember when Euroleague game highlight films used to appear like this? BiE kinda digs the model, actuallya Through the 2009-10 campaign, Barca caused it to be four Euroleague wins in a row by topping the Greens in the Top 16 round twice. In the next go-around had the Blaugrana nipping the Greens, 70-67. Considering the show of the sport, however, BiE wonders precisely how anyone in Europe except the staff physician actually ended Nikola Pekovica Once again on your way to the title, Panathinaikos met with the Spanish side in 2011 in a quarterfinal collection about as hard-fought, gritty and nervewracking for every single fanbase as this yearas. Game three found PAO simply take the 2-1 lead on the ballyhooed Barcelona side that seasona abefore eventually advancing to the Final Four and the the surface of the podium. Hereas a pleasant encapsulation of the whole collection, done up with *that* track from aRequiem for a Dreama that quickly makes any basketball emphasize clip on YouTube greater (final data here) Atmosphere is wanted by you? “Weird” Tennis Rules: Am I Supposed To Call My Tennis Partner’s Serve Out?

Well, here's another weird thing that recently happened to me on the tennis court.  And once again, I seemed to be the only one on the court who knew or cared what the rules provided.

I recently played a doubles match where my partner was serving and she double faulted.  Our opponents called her first serve out, loud and clear.  But on her second serve, they kind of hesitated.  One opponent made a half-hearted attempt at calling it out – "I think it was out??"  The other opponent said nothing until her partner questioned her and then she replied with, "I wasn't really watching but I think it was out."

Now, MY partner immediately took the position that if our opponents weren't sure it was out, then it was in.  And the point was our's.  And to some extent, she was right.  How do we know?

While the ITF Rules of Tennis don't address this situation, The Code that my league plays by (and most do) does have something to say.  First, it tells us, in Section 8, that "Any ball that cannot be called out is considered to be good.  A player may not claim a let on the basis of not seeing a ball."  Thus, arguably, since our opponents were not 100% sure the ball was out, it should have been considered good.

But, and this is the big but that no one else seemed aware of, another part of The Code, Section 13, has this to say:

Player calls own shots out.  With the exception of the first serve, a player should call out the player's own shots if the player clearly sees the ball out regardless of whether requested to do so by an opponent.  The prime objective in making calls is accuracy.  All players should cooperate to attain this objective.

So what was the problem in my match?  Well, unfortunately, I saw that my partner's second serve was out.  Definitely.  No doubt about it.  Therefore, I followed The Code and conceded that the serve was out and the point was our opponents'.

I guess, technically, one might argue that I didn't have to say anything.  The Code does say that "a player should call out the player's own shots" and this was not my own shot.  But I think the other language in Section 13 ("The prime objective in making calls is accuracy.  All players should cooperate to attain this objective.") required me to admit what I saw – that the serve was out.

But, fortunately or unfortunately, I knew this provision of The Code and, since I'm not a cheater even by omission, I felt I had to give up the point.  (The good news is, we ended up winning the match so it wasn't like I gave up the match point.)

What do you think?  Was I right to give up the point?  Or should I have kept my mouth shut in this situation?  Am I upholding the spirit of The Code and fair play in tennis? Or am I giving away free points?  I'd love to hear what you think in the comments below.

NFL Draft 2013 Results: Biggest Winners & Losers of the NFL Draft

Bjoern Werner (outside linebacker from Florida State at No. 24) and Montori Hughes (defensive tackle from Tennessee Martin at No. 139) aren't complete players, but both have a chance to do some damage is Chuck Pagano's defense. They'll have great teachers and enough leash to learn from mistakes on the field.

Hugh Thornton (offensive guard from Illinois at No. 86) and Khalid Holmes (center from USC at No. 121) were both huge reaches on my board, but were also top-ranked players when taking the zone-blocking scheme into account.

While Bruce Arians preferred a man/power-blocking approach, Pep Hamilton ran a lot of ZBS as the "Andrew Luck Director of Offense" at Stanford and is clearly bringing that scheme to the pros. Late-round back Kerwynn Williams (Utah State at No. 230) fits the ZBS as well.

My two favorite picks of the class, however, might be John Boyett (strong safety from Oregon at No. 192) and Mr. Irrelevant himself, Justice Cunningham (tight end from South Carolina at No. 254)—both late rounders.

Boyett was the Oregon Ducks' leading tackler in 2011 before an injury sidelined him this season. He has a chance to be a great in-the-box safety or a core special teamer. As for Mr. Irrelevant, he's already the best blocking tight end on the Colts' roster.

Ivo Karlovic is in a stroke having be suffered by a Miami hospital. From Jenny. Thanks.

JENNY I do not understand how true this really is but read via Twitter that Ivo Karlovic is in a stroke having be suffered by a Miami hospital. This may be a Ischaemic Attack [TIA - mini stroke], people generally make a full recovery from those without lasting harm, unlike a CVA. I have no longer details. I'm sorry and wish him a speedy recovery.

Charlotte Bobcats: Shooting Henry Dunlap Is the Right Move

The very first shots of the pivotal offseason for the Charlotte Bobcats have now been shot in dramatic fashion. Less than per week after the final outcome of their season, Charlotte made the relatively shocking determination to fire Mike Dunlap after only 1 season as head coach. Many people will look at this situation, when the Bobcats went from 7-59 under Paul Silas to 21-61 under Mike Dunlap (tripling their win whole), as a silly move by the management in Charlotte, but make no mistake: As a lover who saw every single game they played this season, it had been not just a error. People will point out that Mike Dunlap wasn't the problem for the Bobcats, and they will be right. He was not the problem, because the term "the" suggests one problem. But he undoubtedly was a problem. Several weeks ago, I wrote a bit slamming Mike DunlapAfor his teaching methods and how he has failed in developing important players of the group. Gerald Henderson erupted down the stretch, but he did the same last season. On top of that, he was coming off an accident to begin the summer season, and it took time to him to return to full power. Dunlap had little-to-no developmental feedback with Henderson. Kemba Walker is among the most improved people in the NBA in 2013, but he can perhaps not attribute that to Dunlap. Walker demonstrated in his rookie season that he'd all of the instruments necessary to be a kick off point guard in the league; it absolutely was just a matter of finding his ground, which he did this season. Bismack Biyombo's progress was due mainly to his amazing work ethic and help from peripheral coaches, not Dunlap herself. And as far as Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, the aforementioned article says it all. Dunlap failed MKG on every level, and I will not cool off of that opinion. Dunlap played MKG occasionally, providing him 14 minutes one night, then 34 the following, back to 15, and so on and so forth. All told, MKGa'a pillar who Dunlap was particularly earned to developa'only averaged 26 minutes per game, when he needs to have been calculating 34-36. Dunlap's rotations were mind-bogglingly terrible and lost this team greater than a couple of activities. Having his whole counter on the floor of a single-digit deficit with two minutes left is negative instruction, and Mike Dunlap is to be held responsible. So no sense was made absolutely by many of his coaching SNAFUs, and sometimes while watching I'd just drop my head and wonder what he was thinking. He did many, many things wrong. He pushed four-hour methods regularly and tired players on or before game days. He clung to a 2-3 zone defense consistently that left the perimeter wide open for exploitation, allowing teams to put down hot up shots from beyond the arc. And perhaps, most importantly, he didn't change. He clung to his bad rotations. He clung to his area defense and college instruction attitude. He clung to keeping crazy training hours for a staff that, while young, might still be clearly worn-out at the conclusion of games. He wasn't liked by the players, to create things your choice for administration easier and a whole lot worse for Dunlap. And I am not just discussing Ben Gordon and Tyrus Thomas. Several participants had predominantly negative things to say about Dunlap following the year ended. Issues ranged from long procedures and genuine fatigue to his cool demeanor and inability to get in touch with the participants. For some guy who was designed to develop the young core, Dunlap as an alternative was viewed as bad and unapproachable. You could possibly get away with this, if you're Pat Riley. If you're a head coach just appearing out of being an assistant on a that would've been clobbered by many of the players on your present team, you'd better anticipate to at the very least be a great man when you're pressing four-hour techniques regularly. Dunlap almost absolutely had a method to his insanity, but his method failed. He may have been able to keep his work, if he had altered since the season proceeded, but he kept attempting to force the square peg into the round opening the whole season, and it definitely did not work. It'll be viewed by the majority as quick, and many will look at Jordan and say it is just another bad solution of his unhappy property. But Jordan does not have a stronghold on this company anymore. Sure, he's the ultimate say, but he earned a team to help correct this team, and his word is not the only real word want it was a good year ago. The Bobcats took a risk by hiring Dunlap, who had very little training experience at the professional stage and wasn't also the top coach at a good collegiate group upon his hiring. It had been an experiment that failed. well-versed coaches...there are a lot of them on the market perhaps now the Bobcats will attempt to look. Perhaps they will look into college groups again, looking for another guy ready to move up from college and into the NBA, but hopefullya'if they go that routea'it will not be an assistant coach from a team that's not very competitive. Where in actuality the Bobcats are getting to go now in regards to coaching I do not know. I really do realize that shooting Dunlap, albeit a little alarming, was the best shift.

Alex Ferguson closes in on Borussia Dortmund striker John Lewandowski - The Independent

Manchester United will use funds from a number of lucrative commercial deals to press forward with programs to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski, who surprised Europe on Wednesday with four objectives against Real Madrid in the Champions' League semi-final. United have now been heartened by Bayern Munich's denial that any settlement is in position for the Polish global to join Mario GAtze, who's already set to move between the German clubs come early july. Bayern have consented to spend a (A31.5m) release condition for GAtze, and United feel that Dortmund dare not allow Lewandowski to follow him to the staff they expect you'll satisfy in the Champions' League final at Wembley next month. There's been fierce competition between the clubs, and Bayern, in reclaiming the Bundesliga name, are 20 points ahead of Dortmund. "Dortmund fans aren't planning to be happy and I do not think they will sell him to Bayern Munich," United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, said. "I think they will let his contract go out, or offer him somewhere else. Have I acquired room for him? I will find space for anybody." Ferguson is in a financial position to accomplish so because United's industrial division continue to stand up so many deals all over the world. The newest came three days before in a two-year sponsorship deal with a Japanese social gaming company. Different tie-ups this year add a Vietnamese cellular phone team and a A160m deal for Aon to recruit the training ground. Lewandowski himself was reported yesterday as telling friends he really wants to visit the Premier League "because it's best and the largest in the world." Currently United a including former Gunner Robin van Persie a' will get a guard of honour from Arsenal before they perform at the Emirates as newly-crowned Premier League champions.

Atletico Madrid vs. Real Madrid, El Derbi madrileño: Final score 1-2, Yet ... - SB Nation

Real Madrid continued their dominance over Atletico Madrid as Los Colchoneros have now failed to be their city rivals in 25 league matches, spanning nearly 14 years.

Going into the 152nd El Derbi madrileño things looked setup for Atletico Madrid to finally break their near 14 year winless streak against Real Madrid. With Los Merengues resting several starters and Atletico with a nearly first choice lineup, this should have been the day for Atletico to shine. Instead Real Madrid came back from an early deficit for a 2-1 win.

Radamel Falcao got Atletico Madrid off to a wonderful start heading in a cross in the 4th minute and staking Atletico to an early 1-0 lead. Koke"s free kick from 25-yards was saved by Diego Lopez but the keeper unable to control the rebound and Diego Godín was in the right spot, sending the ball back across to Falcao at the far post for the headed finish.

The Vicente Calderón went bananas but the joy lasted only ten minutes as Real Madrid equalized thanks to an own goal by Francisco Juanfran. Angel Di Maria's free kick started the trouble, deflecting off one player at the top of the box before taking a second deflection off Juanfran in front of his goalkeeper, adjusting the flight of the ball enough to send it past a diving Thibaut Courtois.

The two goals calmed down the frantic early tempo but instead of free flowing play we got lots of fouls and an increasingly edgy atmosphere as the referee desperately tried to keep things under control by handing out yellow cards like the ice cream man giving out popsicles on a hot day.

Courtois made a huge save just before the break after Di Maria found Karim Benzema alone in space on the right side. The French striker struggled to gain control of the ball giving the Atletico keeper time to recover and make a sliding tackle to break-up the pressure.

Atletico dominated the opening 18 minutes of the second half with Real Madrid having virtually no possession. So of course in the 63rd minute, seemingly from nowhere, Di Maria snuck him behind the defense running onto a pass from Benzema and beat Courtois to put the visitors ahead 2-1.

As the minutes ticked away Atletico became more and more frustrated and less and less able to mount a consistent attack. The addition of Xabi Alonso by Jose Mourinho helped settle down the Madrid midfield and improved their possession greatly.

The last time Atletico beat Real Madrid was in October of 1999...25 league matches ago. Since that win Atletico have only managed six draws combined with 19 losses against their rivals. Madrid extends their advantage in second place to six points over Atletico.
