There have been rumors of the Cleveland Browns' curiosity about Ryan Mallett all offseason, but it was evident when something was going to happen, it would be closer to the draft. So this Mallett-to-Browns story will not disappear completely. Asked Lombardi abt it upright yest. He laughed. When it happens, do not think till April Henry Lombardi's interest in Mallett is well-documented, and if the Browns can deal from the sixth over all pick, they'd probably have the draft money to create a move ahead Mallett. A third-round pick appears to make sense, though the Pats are most likely moving for a second-rounder. It's a tough continue reading Mallett from what he's found the past two preseasons and limited mop-up responsibility. He has a massive arm, but he has found little consistency, usually launching missiles headed for the bleachers. Could Lombardi desire that arm enough to make him take a chance? The Chiefs paid a for Matt Cassel, and everybody else saw how that worked out. And Cassel was coming off an 11-win time. A second for Mallett will be a lot.
