3UP Golf ball Review.

It occurs for me that it must become incredibly difficult to break within the golf ball business. Making your ball requires expertise around aerodynamics, physics, materials sciences, manufacturing and probably more than a few things I can't just imagine. Then there's patent law. The big ball makes have vast patent portfolios as well as the new guy on the market must either figure out the way to avoid them, or warning licensing agreements.

The 3UP 3F12 can be a three piece, cast urethane ball with 318 dimples in addition to a 90 compression. In this, the 3F12 is like other "name" manufacturer's three piece balls. Below is some data offered by 3UP:

3UP distinguishes itself in what it says is some softer feel and considerably higher short iron spin rate than on corresponding balls. The difference is apparently inside cast urethane cover. It offers the peculiar property of being both soft and somewhat tacky.

The published spin rate for any 9 iron is 9, 032, while the initial spin rate up from the driver is 3341. Used, I've found the 3UP 3F12 being a high-performing ball. As your literature suggests, I'm especially content with its play around that green. Playing with this 3F12, I've had a few remarkable rounds recently using wedges, pitching and chipping.

Heli-copter flight tee, and with golf irons, it also performs well to me. With my swing speed, I still think I have more distance from the Wilson Duo, but the 3F12 may make up for that with better performance for the green.

My only concern is to use the price. A dozen of the 3F12 balls cost $39. 99. While that is definitely cheaper than the Pro V1 and Bridgestone B330, it is still more expensive than other model three piece balls. Th 3F12 is a great ball, but my thought is that if given a choice between a name and an upstart, people will go to your name unless there's an easy significant price difference.

Still, if you are a fan in the Pro V1 or various "premium" balls, I declare that you try the 3Up 3F12. I think you'll be pleasantly astounded.
