Former Stoke City midfielder plans retirement - This is Tamworth

LEE Hendrie has admitted he may call it a day after playing a starring role in Tamworth's last day of the season heroics on Saturday.

The former Aston Villa and Stoke City man, whose career has taken him all the way to England recognition, revealed that despite the high of beating the drop, the time might still be right to hang up his boots.

Hendrie said: "I am thinking about it to be fair, I have got some decisions to make over the next few weeks that is for sure.

This includes a free nutrition plan, nutrition guide, food diary and progression programme!! Call Tom now on 07914589605, THIS OFFERS TOO GOOD TO MISS OUT ON!!!

If he does decide to call it a day Hendrie can look back with pride in the role he played as Tamworth beat the drop on the last day of the season.

Hendrie more than played his part in a 2-1 win over Woking, a result that coupled with defeat for Stockport away at Kidderminster, ensured that the Lambs would once again be playing Conference Premier football next season.

For the veteran midfielder, though, the game against Woking, despite the occasion that went with it, was an enjoyable one to take part in.

"I was caught up in our game, all I kept thinking about was getting our win, I didn't even think about what was going on elsewhere.

"Dale has done a great job and deserves that chance. He has taken Tamworth to their highest ever points tally, he needs a chance after that.
