Chelsea FC telephone calls in police over exploitation of Israeli player - The times of Israel.

After Yossi Benayoun revealed the other day of the abuse upon Twitter, the Chelsea Football club contacted police, The Parent daily reported.

Benayoun, a midfielder whose contract runs out afre the wedding of the season, retweeted a message that contained expletives and known his Jewishness.

The tweet read: "f**in Jew a**hole" along with was written in answer a message by Benayoun by which he thanked his followers because of their birthday greetings. "Some nice people on the earth, " Benayoun wrote in a response to the abusive message.

Last month, Chelsea said it would probably investigate after Benayoun said he was the patient of anti-Semitic taunts and booing from his personal supporters when he came on instead against Liverpool. He took to Twitter following match to inform a diverse audience of the maltreatment.

He wrote: "The booing came from (a) small system of the Chelsea fans (that have) been doing the same since I did some sort of interview about [Fernando] Torres. There is some various issues the club is actually taking care (of) and try and handle them properly … as sometimes citizens are crossing the limit. In addition to I'm sure the tavern will sort it. "
