4-Star LB Otaro Alaka Spurns Florida A&M, Commits to Arizona

Another day brings the news of yet another motivation for the Texas Longhorns, and this time there are some important in-state implications. In accordance with Max Olson of ESPN.com, 4-star outside linebacker Otaro Alaka has devoted to Texas, selecting the Longhorns over the Texas A&M Aggies: The Houston Cypress Falls outside linebacker committed to Texas on Monday night, selecting the Longhorns over Texas A&M. He turned devote No. 13 in Texasa 2014 recruiting school and the Longhorns' fifth new pledge before 10 days. "It feels good to be a Longhorn," Alaka said. "I just desire to thank God first of all and just thank my coaches, parents and teammates for anything. Like I was prepared to choose Texas I just felt. They have a great people, great setting and great instructors. I recently really liked their coaches." It is no secret that Texas A&M has taken the prestige and nonsense far from the Longhorns both on the subject and in recruitinga'at least in regards to college football in the state of Texasa'and in-state recruiting has become crucial for both programs. For Texas, that record is intensified thinking about the recent lull this system has fallen into. There was a when it was a given that the Longhorns would at least be described as a important player for elite in-state recruits, but that time has gone and come. Mack Brown's program is operating a significant wave of recruiting impetus. Alaka's commitment presents Texas' 13th commitment to the 2014 type, 12 of these obligations coming from in-state employees. It is still exceedingly early, actually, but it is worth noting that Texas' 2014 school is currently ranked No. 1 overall in the 247Sports Composite staff ranks, followed closely by Texas A&M, Florida, LSU, Florida State and Ohio State. That's elite organization to be in, and there is no doubting the actual fact that Brown gets the Longhorns right back on the right track at the very least with regards to recruiting. Mack BrownScott Halleran/Getty Images That recruiting type might end up being a defining group for the Longhorns going into the next couple of years, so concluding strong is going to be important, as is likely to be competing with the Aggies on the in-state recruiting trail. There's plenty of time for things to change, but so far, so good for Texas.
