System & Manchester City in race to signal Dortmund star Gotze...

Apr 11, 2013 1:05:00 PM The 20-year-old Germany international, who features a a40 million launch offer, remains monitored by the Premier League pair in 2013 Manchester City and arsenal are both overseeing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Gotze in front of would-be estimates at the end of the summer season. Txiki Begiristain, hired as City's director of basketball last October, has seen Dortmund play several times in 2013 with the intention of tracking Mats Hummels, Neven Subotic and the highly-rated Gotze. Goal.com exclusively revealed in March that Manchester United have pulled out from the running for Gotze, despite the 20-year-old openly revealing his need to one day play for Sir Alex Ferguson's side. Studies in Germany claim Begiristain flew out to Dortmund to view the German club's installation against Shakhtar Donetsk in March and had a talk with Gotze's representative, Volker Struth, regarding a potential deal. Roberto Mancini is targeting several big-name signings ahead of the summer transfer screen after seeing his side drop 12 factors behind Manchester United in the concept race this season. Gotze also stays on Arsenal's radar and though Arsene Wenger's side would be unlikely to generally meet the Germany international'sAa40 million release term but a bid of about A25m would be considered by the Premier League club. Arsenal failed with a for Gotze in 2011, whilst the player's agent said that the midfielder would stay with Dortmund for a further couple of years before considering a move elsewhere.
