Not only was Sunday's WrestleMania 29 a wild show with plenty of excitement, but Monday's follow-up episode of Raw was one of the greatest in the history of the weekly program.
While there were some fans who felt let down by how WrestleMania played out this year, the excitement associated with Monday's Raw satisfied the hardcore and casual wrestling fans alike.
World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio defeated Jack Swagger & Zeb Colter; Dolph Ziggler cashed in Money in the Bank on Del Rio to win World Heavyweight Championship.
After what was called a predictable WrestleMania, the WWE threw the fans the ultimate swerve on Monday's Raw and had Ryback attack John Cena to close the show. Ryback picked up Cena's WWE Championship and stood over his motionless body. It was the perfect visual.
While there are many members of the WWE Universe who have claimed that this is a full-blown heel turn, there is still a chance that Ryback is just out for the WWE Championship and doesn't care who is in his way.
There will also be a contingent of fans who believe that turning Ryback's character into a lone wolf will hurt his momentum with the crowd, but the fact that he will be taking on the polarizing John Cena will make this one of the most interesting feuds coming out of Raw.
WWE ring announcer Justin Roberts was like the rest of the WWE Universe when they saw Ryback attack John Cena and grab his championship belt:
WWE author Kevin Sullivan was confused by the reaction of the fans on Monday night, just as the rest of the world was:
The WWE's official Twitter account offered a great image of Ryback with the title after laying out the company's top star:
In one of the greatest cash-in moments in the history of the Money in the Bank briefcase, Dolph Ziggler stole the show on Monday night by beating Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship. The building in East Rutherford exploded with excitement, and that resonated throughout the wrestling world.
As great as this title victory was for Ziggler, it is imperative that the WWE books him properly moving forward to keep his momentum high. The fans are in love with the new champion right now, but without the proper booking and storylines to make Ziggler look strong, he will not be taken seriously as a main event star.
Ziggler's girlfriend and WWE diva A.J. Lee expressed her happiness for the new champ and how much he deserves the honor:
Former WWE superstar Matt Hardy talked about how the crowd played into the cash-in and made the moment feel even more special:
Another former WWE star, Lance Storm, talked about Ziggler's impressive work ethic and how his perception of the new champion hasn't changed a bit:
